Aegina is a vibrant island teaming with life all year round. It is situated just 40 minutes away from the capital city, Athens. Briefly the capital itself and home to the temple of Afaia and Kolona, it is an island rich in history and colour. The main town is recognized for it’s classical beauty and often is first port of call for sailing yachts leaving Athens. Aegina is largely volcanic and purple and red in colour, although parts are lush green with pine forests. Apart from the main historical sites there are many monasteries to visit as well as the breathtaking ancient olive grove. On the water there is much to be discovered whilst touring and it is also an ideal location for year round coaching holiday breaks, being so close and well connected to Athens and Greece’s main international airport.
